Our family went this afternoon after school to see the new Veggie Tales movie. Universal Studios now owns the rights to Veggie Tales and it has changed in one big way – overt talk of God and scripture is missing from the movie.
This is a family movie not a faith filled movie. The story can be taken somewhat allegorically, but you must assume a Christian value to get the meaning. In other words, only those familiar with the story of God will get some deeper meaning. I guess this is like preaching to the choir.
Anyway, our family is always looking for good “G” rated movies to see. We want to see movies that don’t need bathroom humor to entertain kids. In this respect, Veggie Tales is still our favorite. Oh well, no more God talk, but at least they are still doing what many will not – keeping it clean. Go ahead and take the kids, ours enjoyed the movie immensely.
